Kay is a queer screenwriter from Dallas Texas. While she grew up in an environment that revered ladylikeness and valued Southern traditions, when it came time to play house she jumped at the chance to be the “Dad”. She moved to Los Angeles to major in political science at Loyola Marymount University, but her love of screenwriting kept her in LA. Her writing centers queer people who can’t cut themselves a break.

Her co-written feature My First Lady was a comedy category selection for the ISA Fast Track Fellowship. She’s been selected as a finalist for the Road Map Diversity Fellowship.
